Is it really an abomination?

So I've been doing a lot of thinking about growing up in Church and my attraction to men. Is it right? Am I going to hell? Does God agree with the thought processes I had before making decisions that acts on desire? That kind of thing.

The main thing people seem to talk is in the King James Version, Leviticus 18:22 is translated: "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination."

However the bible also says...

Matthew 19:12
"For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it."

Wiki:
The most commonly accepted meaning of the word eunuch (pronounced /ˈjuːnək/) is a castrated man, in particular one castrated early enough to have major hormonal consequences. However, in other cultures through history and in the Bible, Matthew 19:12, the word 'eunuch' is used to refer to homosexual men (usually effeminate men)

I guess with the bible being open to interpretation, and the ten commandments being the only laws created directly by God, its definately an interesting point to think about.

  1. interesting post, as a fellow church boy, I think its down to your own interpretation. at the end of the day we are all sinners who have to choose our own paths.
