So with Miami Sizzle Going On...

So two sets of Prides are taking place at the moment. DC Pride in Washington DC and Sizzle in Miami. You only type in either one on twitter to see the people there now tweeting away. But what is the actual story behind these events?

Miami Sizzle

Sizzle Miami started back in 2002 as a one-day event called “Sex on the Beach” in Miami/Fort Lauderdale during major holiday weekends.  In 2003, party promoter Dwight Powell organized a three-day event during the Memorial Day weekend and the name was changed to Sizzle.  Sizzle 2003 was attended mainly by South Florida partiers, but by 2004, word quickly spread and the event grew into a five-day extravaganza to meet the demands of the eager masses.  Over the subsequent years, Sizzle grew larger and more extravagant changing venues and increasing attendance.  In 2008, Sizzle jumped thirty percent in attendance to become the largest gay event during the Memorial Day Weekend in the history of Miami.

Anyone know the history of DC Black Pride?

Is it really an abomination?

So I've been doing a lot of thinking about growing up in Church and my attraction to men. Is it right? Am I going to hell? Does God agree with the thought processes I had before making decisions that acts on desire? That kind of thing.

The main thing people seem to talk is in the King James Version, Leviticus 18:22 is translated: "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination."

However the bible also says...

Matthew 19:12
"For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it."

Wiki:
The most commonly accepted meaning of the word eunuch (pronounced /ˈjuːnək/) is a castrated man, in particular one castrated early enough to have major hormonal consequences. However, in other cultures through history and in the Bible, Matthew 19:12, the word 'eunuch' is used to refer to homosexual men (usually effeminate men)

I guess with the bible being open to interpretation, and the ten commandments being the only laws created directly by God, its definately an interesting point to think about.

Why is being black and a bottom such a big deal?

Found this to be quite insightful read that a fan of the blog brought to my attention so I thought I'd share:

"Being weary about admitting that you bottom is a very real issue... and it all goes back to perception. Being sexually submissive aka "bottom" has always been demonized because in many minds that person is "seemingly" taking on the role of a woman - the weaker vessel - simply because he "prefers" to receive. I definitely don't agree with that because at the end of the day we're all men, but when it seems that most men who claim the position of "bottom" are also very feminine it empowers that perception thus this conversation we're having right now. What I've learned is that some fem men don't even want to be men (hate having a penis and want you to act as if they don't have one) - but that's an entirely different topic all together and one worth having. So, here's what I am getting at...  at the end of the day we have to let go of the hetero constructs when it comes to being in relationships with each other as men and just be. Our judgment for those who are "bottoms" comes from outside anti-homo/hetero world that dominate our lives. It's on US to define what OUR love should look like and the roles we play in it. And because a man takes it up the rear doesn't not make him less than a man - less strong - less masculine. Yet, none of this is possible if you're not comfortable with who you are which is what I think is the real root to all this."

This Still Happens in 2010?

BLANTYRE, Malawi – A judge convicted a gay couple Tuesday of charges that could send them to jail for more than a decade following an engagement celebration, a ruling activists fear could send others into hiding and hamper the fight against AIDS.

Malawi's government has been defiant in the face of international criticism over the couple's prosecution since they were arrested in December.

Tiwonge Chimbalanga, a 20-year-old hotel janitor, and his unemployed partner Steven Monjeza, 26, were arrested the day after they celebrated their engagement with a party at the hotel where Chimbalanga worked — an apparent first in Malawi.

Undule Mwakasungula, a gay rights activist in Malawi, said the couple's decision to declare their relationship with an engagement ceremony appears to have been personal, not political. Others have been prosecuted under the law but this case was different because the two men were open about their homosexuality, Mwakasungula said.

The couple were convicted of unnatural acts and gross indecency under laws dating from the colonial era. Blantyre Chief Resident Magistrate Nyakwawa Usiwa said the sentencing will take place on Thursday and they could be imprisoned for up to 14 years.

The verdict is "extremely disturbing," said Michaela Clayton of the Namibia-based AIDS & Rights Alliance for Southern Africa, saying it could encourage anti-gay sentiment in the region as well as set back the fight against AIDS.

Gay people forced underground in Africa are unlikely to seek counseling and treatment for AIDS, activists say. In Malawi, nearly 1 million people — an estimated 12 percent of the population — are living with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.

Homosexuality is illegal in at least 37 countries in Africa including Malawi. In Uganda, lawmakers are considering a bill that could sentence homosexuals to life in prison and includes capital punishment for "repeat offenders." Even in South Africa, the only African country that recognizes gay rights, gangs have raped lesbians.

Mwakasungula said the two Malawian men were concerned that if they were released, they could be attacked by Malawians who have threatened them. But given the laws and the climate in Malawi, he said a guilty verdict had been expected.

The courtroom was packed Tuesday, and hundreds more people waited outside for a glimpse of the couple, who did not speak. Chimbalanga exchanged hi-five greetings with some in the crowd as he was escorted from the courthouse Tuesday. Monjeza, who has been tearful at previous hearings, was expressionless.

Priti Patel of the Southern African Litigation Centre, an independent rights group, said the couple could appeal on the grounds that the laws under which they were prosecuted violate the country's 1994 constitution. But an earlier attempt by their lawyer to have the case thrown out on those grounds was rejected.

The government, backed by Malawi church leaders, says it is clear the two men broke the law. Religious officials say homosexuality is "sinful" and the West should not be allowed to use its financial power to force Malawi to accept homosexuality. Malawi relies on donors for 40 percent of its development budget.

Edi Phiri, who fled Malawi for Britain five years ago after being beaten because he was gay, said he was shocked by Tuesday's verdict.

"It's very, very pathetic," he said. "I don't know how I can describe how disappointed I am."

*My 2 pence

Its stories like this that bother me. Why can't people just live and let live? Unnatural acts and gross indecency is how their relationship is described by their constitution. And people wonder why men who get down are very cloak and dagger about their movements. Just sad.

Unless you were living under a rock, you would have heard about Vogue Evolution being on America's Best Dance Crew. I found them entertaining, and although a bit ott at times I like the fact that whenever they felt that an interviewer was being snide, they called them out on it.

So you are fucking with me and my boy?

A couple of months back I got talking to one guy online. Before long he dropping his number and the dusk til dawn talks began. In my head I'm thinking, this dude has the potential to be a keeper. 2nd of Uni, personality and a sexual mind? I'd be dumb not to think otherwise.

During one of our talks I let him know that I wanted him to come check me and he came through the next evening. My man was nice! Brown skin, sexy lips and eyes, toned frame and perfect size. I was like "You know when we get back to mine its on?" He was like, I'll hold you to that. Soon as I put my keys in the door and opened my bedroom door, I pinned him against the door and kissed him down. It was a wrap from there as we moved from the floor onto the bed. He rid the dick like a pro and I had him up in mad positions. After round 1 the room smelt like sex; all musty, not to mention that there was shit on the condom :-( . Window got opened for air and the bin got emptied.

We take a break and player Street Fighter on the Xbox and I start to feel horny again, so to up the stakes, I told him that the loser of the next fight would have to suck the other's dick. He lost and round two kicked off after which we fell asleep.

I walk him to the train station the next day and dapped him goodbye. Few hours later one of  my boy calls m up and is like, "Yeah I've been seeing one brown skin dude with sexy lips and eyes, toned frame and perfect size from east for a couple of months. He told me he loved me a couple of days ago."

I was like "Bruv, I'm happy for you". We then talked about general boy stuff before ending the call. Started to think about it and I was like my in mind: My boy's new interest and mine sound alike. Then the light bulb moment came to me. ITS THE SAME FUCKING GUY!

To be continued...

LOL People have got too much time on their hands!

Here is a video I saw on youtube of a Cartoon Kelly and Beyonce at each other's throats. I think with that Beyonce video that hit the net the other day, it makes watching this even more funny.

Kobe WTF?

Look at these pics that appear in the Current Issue of US Elle Magazine. I'm trying to get my head around this. What lifestyle is trying to be sold here because I sure as hell am not buying into this shit?

As for the cover, if you thought it couldn't get any worse, you were wrong.

Part 2: Dual Situations

So I talked about a couple of situations that were popping off a month and a bit ago. The latest? Ended up locking off both situations.

The musician I ended things with because although the physical was on point, mentally my man weren't saying much to maintain my interest, so it was a case of where the physical started to wane. Had some fun times though. Feel a bit badmind though because when I ended it, I said it was because I was bored and I could tell after that he proppa took it to heart.

Second scenario I locked off because the situation was draining, with him arranging things and not following through, telling me shit that didn't add up... all of that shit. I am a guy with little patience so as soon as I start to see a pattern despite giving you chance after chance, its curtains. I saw one and that was all it took.

I'm gonna take a dating time out and concentrate on other stuff. Things always happen when you least expect them to right?

CAN'T BE SIDETRACKED WITH LINKING, THERE'S WORK TO DO

I was listening to Wiley - Pick Ur Self Up and it got me thinking?

Do you ever feel like needy folks that you are dating try to steal up all your free time?

I mean its cool to date and all, but I am someone who appreciates my own space and need someone with the maturity and independence not for me to have to check in each day unless my emotions make me want to do so. This is because I am a busy guy.

The worst thing you can do is dictate how you feel you deserve to be treated because to me that is just selfish, and the quick way to never hear from me again.

Are you needy and think I'm totally wrong? Or are you independent and can completely relate?

Let's get the comments popping. Don't be scarred.
